Vulnerable sharing about demos
versus Q & A about technique:
Having been to a LOT of IFS workshops, I know it’s very important to separate the emotional processing from the learning / manager /mental processing. I invite us to keep those two elements separate, so that everyone is able to feel safe and vulnerable in their emotional processing BEFORE we switch to having managers ask their important and useful questions about the techniques.
If managers ask questions first (instead of doing emotional processing first) it really changes the emotional tone and depth that’s available for the work, so I want us to share from our heart after a demo FIRST and then switch to the learning questions.
Also, it’s not loving or safe to do a demo and then have managers start analyzing and asking questions about it, instead of staying in an open-hearted space of receiving the work we just saw and speaking from our hearts about anything it brought up for us emotionally.
