Externalizing Parts Using Finger Puppets

No IFS experience necessary! Nothing needed except you — but if you want to show your objects or finger puppets, or volunteer for a demo using them, then please bring them! Maybe bring a journal also!
Ideas for externalizing parts:
scarves • ties • socks • rocks • legos • toys • stuffed animals • pens • felt cut-outs • scrapbooking items • stickers • cards (playing cards, parts cards, Tarot, etc.) • play therapy miniatures • drawings
photographs • postcards • essential oil or Bach flower remedy glass bottles (the bottle, not the oil) plastic magnetic letters • worry dolls • crystals • shells • buttons • coins • earrings • rings • pendants • other jewelry • Beanie Babies • utensils • patches (Girl Scout, Brownie, Boy Scout, etc)

This class is for everyone — beginner to advanced!
You do NOT need IFS training to join in — demonstrations are an entryway to IFS learning, on both a beginner and advanced level, making it perfect for anyone, a starting place and a deepening place.

Go inside/ Journal
We will begin as all IFS gatherings do, by going inside to connect to ourselves and center. Feel free to journal during this time if you prefer.
IFS + Finger Puppets Demo
The main teaching in the class will be a demonstration of using finger puppets to externalize parts in IFS. So please bring your puppets or other objects! See the list above for ideas!
DO NOT USE PERISHABLE FOOD! No berries, cheerios, etc. Exiles are EXTREMELY literal and may consider this cannibalism. Flowers are also not recommended so that your parts don’t suddenly ‘die.’ Thank you.
After the demo, we’ll start with our positive responses to the demo — what was inspiring and how did we resonate with the work? You can also journal what trailheads for your own inner work it brought up, but please only share how you RESONATED or were INSPIRED by the demo.
Q & A
After that, we’ll have an extended Q & A that I will videotape for future reference and learning. I’ll answer any questions about the IFS work we saw.
Closing
After that, we’ll close with a word or phrase we’re taking with us.
Sliding-scale individual sessions
As I ramp up the IFS Demo watch parties, I will be offering one or two sliding scale spaces a month for individual sessions with me. In return for a lower-cost session, they will be videotaped and later used as teaching videos.
The videos will not be public access (out and about on Youtube) —they will be paywalled and only available in teaching settings and/or as paid, downloadable self-paced IFS demonstration and teaching material.
